Set the Internet to run in the background when the screen is off
  1. Open the Start menu, and search Control Panel.

  2. Click Hardware and Sound.

  3. Click Change battery settings under Power Options.

  4. Click Change plan settings.

  5. Select the desired time in both drop-down boxes to the right of Turn off the display. For example, if you set Turn off the display time to 1 minute, your computer screen display will turn off after1 minute. If you don’t touch it, the computer will still be connected to the Internet and continue running in the background. Select Never in both drop-down boxes to the right of Put the computer to sleep, and your computer will not enter Sleep mode and stay connected to the Internet. Then click Save changes.

  6. After these are set, your computer will run in the background even when the screen turns off.
