Create a Microsoft account on a HUAWEI computer

A Microsoft account consists of an email address provided by Microsoft and a password, giving users access to services such as Outlook, OneDrive, and Windows Phone with just one login. It can also be used to manage subscription and order history and update privacy and security settings.

  • Before performing the operation, ensure that your computer can properly connect to a network.
  • The Microsoft account creation page may change in real time. The following information is for reference only.
  • For more information about Microsoft account usage guide, visit Microsoft account help.
  1. Open the Microsoft official website, and click Sign in.

    1. Logging in to a Microsoft account may be slow due to network or server fluctuation. Please wait with patience. You can try again after a while or change the network environment (for example, use a mobile hotspot or USB tethering).
    2. If the page keeps loading or a white page is displayed after you click the link to the Microsoft official website, change the DNS of the computer as follows: Set the primary DNS server to 4.2.2.2 and the secondary DNS server to 4.2.2.1. After the account is created, set the DNS to be automatically obtained.

  2. Enter your email account under Create account and click Next.

    • You are advised to use a personal email address (such as a NetEase mail or QQ mail) for the creation.
    • If you want to use a phone number as your account, click Use a phone number instead at the bottom, and follow the onscreen instructions. The following uses creating a Microsoft account using an email address as an example.

  3. Enter a password for your Microsoft account. The password must contain at least eight characters, and at least two of the following character types: Uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Click Next.

  4. Enter your first name and last name, and click Next.

  5. Enter your country, region, and birthdate, and click Next.

Ensure that your age is greater than or equal to 14 years old when creating an account. If you are younger than 14, your account will need to be reviewed by a parent account during log-in.

  6. You will then receive a verification email. Enter the code in the email, and click Next.

  7. Perform verification as prompted and click Next.
  8. You will be directed to the Microsoft account homepage once you have successfully created an account.
