Problem
The CPU usage of the computer is high.
Cause
- The P2P sharing service used for update in the background is enabled.
- The Windows spotlight feature is enabled.
- The Windows prompt feature is enabled.
Solution
- Disable the Windows P2P sharing service. To do so, perform the following:
- Windows 11: Go to Windows Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Delivery Optimization, and disable Allow downloads from other PCs.
- Windows 10: Go to Update & Security > Windows Update > Advanced options > Delivery Optimization, and disable Allow downloads from other PCs.
- Check whether the Windows spotlight feature is enabled on the lock screen by going to Windows Settings > Personalization > Lock screen, and set Background to non-Windows-spotlight modes (such as Photos or PPT).
- Disable unnecessary system notification push. To do this, press Win+I to open Windows Settings, go to System > Notifications & actions, and deselect the notification push options that you do not need.
- Check for Windows system and driver updates in a timely manner. If a message is displayed indicating that the system or driver is to be updated, back up important data, connect your device to the power adapter, and follow the onscreen instructions to update the system or driver. For details, see Updating to a higher version of Windows.
