Unable to install the original image system of the computer
Unable to install the original image system of the computer |
- Problem 1: The user presses F12 after the computer is powered on, and the computer then fails to identify the ROM flashing USB flash drive.
Cause: The ROM flashing file is stored in the root directory (in the folder) of the ROM flashing USB flash drive, so the system cannot directly identify the ROM flashing file.
Solution: Copy the ROM flashing file to the ROM flashing USB flash drive.
- Problem 2: During the ROM flashing process, an error message is displayed as "ERROR", error code 1392 in red, or "The install.wim file is lost".
Cause: Files in the ROM flashing USB flash drive are lost when the image file is downloaded, the ROM flashing USB flash drive is created, or the computer is being flashed.
Solution: Make a new ROM flashing package or use a normal USB flash drive.
- Problem 3: An error message "MateBook D" is displayed during ROM flashing on the HONOR MagicBook.
Cause: MateBook D is recorded in the MagicBook backplane. Therefore, after the PCBA is replaced, the information of the MagicBook backplane does not match that of the image package. As a result, the ROM flashing fails.
Solution: After replacing the PCBA of the MagicBook, use the rework tool to change the product name.
- Problem 4: The MateBook D series (HDD + SSD) fails to install the operating system (OS) on the SSD.
Cause: The HDD has bad sectors. The system may need to invoke the HDD file during the installation. As a result, the installation fails.
Solution: Remove the HDD and install the OS on the SSD. If this operation works, it indirectly indicates that the HDD has bad sectors. It is recommended that you replace the HDD.
- Problem 5: The system displays a message indicating that the installation is complete, but no hard disk is found.
Cause: During system installation, the hard disk is formatted first. After the formatting is complete, the image file is imported. As a result, the image package does not match the computer.
Solution: Select the correct image package.
If the system installation fails, perform the following operations:
- Check whether the image package is correct.
- Check whether the image file is complete.
Check whether the size of the downloaded image package is normal. Generally speaking, the size of the image package is about 8 GB. If the size is less than 8 GB, download the image package again.
- Check whether the USB flash drive is normal.
- The 16 GB or 32 GB USB flash drive must be formatted to the FAT32 format.
- Copy all the decompressed image files to the USB flash drive. Do not create a root directory. The following figure shows the files in the root directory of the USB flash drive.
- Ensure that the USB flash drive functions properly (can be used to install a system on other devices).
- Ensure that only the USB flash drive is connected to the computer during the ROM flashing process.
- Check whether the hard disk is faulty.
Check whether the hard disk information is displayed on the BIOS settings screen. If the hard disk information is not displayed, it indicates that the hard disk is faulty or the hard disk interface on the PCBA is faulty.
- Check whether the PCBA is faulty.
Check whether the system can be booted from the external system hard disk (removable hard disk installed with the Windows system). If the system cannot be booted, it indicates that the PCBA is faulty.
- If the issue persists after performing the preceding operations, replace the USB flash drive, or back up important data and bring your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
