The computer responds slowly to text being input when using USB tethering to share my phone's Internet connection

Cause:

This is caused by an issue with the network adapter drivers associated with USB tethering. During USB tethering, your computer automatically chooses Remote NDIS Internet Sharing Device and installs the default driver for it. The issue occurs due to compatibility issues with the default driver. This issue also occurs with computers of other brands.

Solution:

This issue only occurs when you use the pre-installed Microsoft input method to type. When you use USB tethering to connect to the Internet, use a third-party input method where possible. Alternatively, you can resolve the issue by installing the network adapter driver manually. To do this:

  1. Right-click the Windows icon and then click Device Manager. Expand Network adapters, right-click Remote NDIS based internet Sharing Device, and click Properties.

  2. Under the Driver tab, click Update Driver, Browse my computer for driver software, and Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
  3. Uncheck Show compatible hardware, select Microsoft from the Manufacturer list, and select Remote NDIS Compatible Device from the Model list.
  4. Click Next to install the driver. If any dialog box pops up during the installation, click Yes.
  5. If the problem persists, try disconnecting and reconnecting your phone to your computer or disabling and re-enabling USB tethering.
  6. Huawei has reported this issue to Microsoft. Please stay tuned to Microsoft's Windows Update.
