Video ringtone for incoming calls does not work on my HUAWEI phone/tablet

Perform the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Reset the video ringtone for incoming calls

Go to Settings > Sounds & vibration > Phone ringtone, select Card 1 or Card 2, and go to Video ringtones > Set, to check whether the ringtone has been set.
  1. You cannot set the video ringtone while a call is in progress. Please try again after the call is over.
  2. If the Video ringtones option is not available, your phone/tablet does not support video ringtones. The supported features may vary depending on the product.

2. Exit third-party dialer apps

Skip this step if your device is running EMUI 15.0.

Open Settings, search for and access Default apps, tap Phone/Phone, and check whether a third-party dialer app is used. If so, set it to Contacts (default).

3. Enable the phone storage permission

 
  • If you cannot find the storage permission in the Phone app permissions, it is enabled by default.

Open Settings, and search for and access Apps. Tap / and select Show system processes. Go to Phone > Permissions > Storage, and set the Storage access permission to Allow.

4. Delete Media Storage data

 
  • Deleting the media storage data will restore the video ringtone settings to default.

Open Settings, and search for and access Apps. Tap / and select Show system processes. Go to Media Storage > Storage > CLEAR DATA, wait for a while, and then reconfigure the Video ringtones settings.

5. If the issue persists

If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
