How to set up a Super Administrator account for Windows 10 |
A Super Administrator account in Windows gives you some extra privileges over the normal administrator account, and provides a lot more permissions for running apps or changing settings. To set the Super Administrator account in Windows 10 Home, perform the following:
- You may not be able to use Windows Hello or use fingerprints to unlock your computer screen after you switch to the Super Administrator account.
- You can delete other accounts using the Super Administrator account.
- The Super Administrator account is not supported on Windows 10 Home by default. It is recommended that you do not use it unless necessary.
- Before setting the Super Administrator account, ensure that the local account has the administrator rights. Otherwise, the Super Administrator account cannot be enabled.
- Enter "CMD" in the search box on the taskbar and right-click Command Prompt, and click Run as administrator.
- Enter net user administrator /active:yes on the Administrator: Command Prompt window and press Enter. Please note that there is a space between "administrator" and "/active:yes".
- Click the Windows icon and the Account icon, then click Administrator to log in with your Super Administrator account.
To clear the Super Administrator account, enter "net user administrator /active:no" on the Administrator: Command Prompt window and press Enter. Please note that there is a space between "administrator" and "/active:no". Restart your computer. If there is only one super administrator, close the Super Administrator account with caution. Otherwise, no account is available after the account is closed.
