There is noise or the volume is low when I make a call or use the Voice Notes feature on my HUAWEI watch

If noises or low volume occurs when you make a call or use the Voice note feature on your watch, check whether this issue has occurred since you purchased your watch. If so, take your device and proof of purchase to a Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.

If the sound quality is poor after you have used your watch for a period of time, check the holes on your watch in sequence as shown in the following figure.

Currently, only the HUAWEI WATCH 3/4/5/Ultimate 2 series support the Voice note feature.

Check whether there are water stains in the speaker hole (speaker) and microphone hole (receiver) on the watch

If you have worn your watch in water (such as swimming) or if there are water stains in the holes on your watch, swipe down from the watch face to access the Control Panel, tap Drain, and follow the onscreen instructions to drain the water and place your watch in a well-ventilated area for a while. The sound quality will then return to normal. It is recommended that you avoid water during daily use and enable Drain in a timely manner.

Check whether the speaker hole (speaker) and microphone hole (receiver) on the watch are blocked by foreign objects

If there are foreign objects in the holes, noises may occur or the sound may be weak. Keep the holes on the watch facing down and use a dry soft brush to gently remove dust or lint from the holes.

Keep your watch away from substances that may stain or damage it during daily use, such as dust, sand, soil, oil, smoke, soapy water, cosmetics, saltwater, perfume, pesticide, detergent, sun cream, glue, dye, or other acidic and alkaline substances or solvents.

Check whether the watch is properly worn and whether the recording distance is appropriate

The microphone hole (receiver) is located on the upper part of the watch body. To ensure a good sound effect, keep your lips within 10 cm of the watch surface when making calls or recording voice messages. If the ambient environment is noisy, increase your speaking volume or get closer to the watch. In addition, when using the watch for Bluetooth calls, keep the watch close to your phone to ensure optimal Bluetooth data transmission (the optimal distance is within 1 meter, and there is no wall or obstacle between the watch and the phone).

If the issue persists

If the issue persists, the hardware may be faulty. Back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to a nearby Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
