Unable to enter the system and the screen turns black during a BIOS update

Problem

During a BIOS update, some computer screens will turn black and users are unable to enter the system after restarting the computer, or the HUAWEI logo will be displayed and the screen then turns black.

Cause

This issue normally occurs when the computer suddenly shuts down automatically when it runs out of power or the computer is force shut down.

Solution

(1) Press the power button for 15 seconds to force shut down the computer, then restart the computer again.

(2) If you can restart the computer, update the BIOS to the latest version in PC Manager or from the official website. During the BIOS update, connect the computer to the power supply and do not force shut down your computer. For details, refer to the "BIOS update" FAQ.

(3) If you cannot restart your computer normally, press F2, F8, and F10 during startup and check whether these keys work properly. If so, press and hold F10 to restore the computer to its factory settings and update the BIOS on your computer to the latest version in PC Manager. For details, refer to the FAQ "Use the latest version of F10 system restore". (The version number shown in the figure is not the latest version.)

If the three keys do not work properly, it indicates that your computer has encountered hardware exceptions. Back up your data and bring your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
