The phone still connects to the Wi-Fi network after adding its MAC address to the router's blocklist |
Cause:
You may have added a randomized MAC address to the router's Blocklist, resulting in your phone connecting to the router by switching to the device MAC address.
Solution:
After the network is connected, touch the Wi-Fi name to view the network details. If a random MAC address is used, the router will add the random MAC address to the blocklist. If the connection using the random MAC address fails, the router will automatically use the actual MAC address to connect to the Wi-Fi network. The actual MAC address is not added to the blocklist, so the connection is successful.
- To temporarily disable your phone's access to the Wi-Fi network:
Add both the randomized MAC address and the device MAC address of your phone to the router's blocklist.
- To permanently disable your phone's access to the Wi-Fi network:
Disable the Wi-Fi randomized MAC address of your phone to use the device MAC address of your phone, and then add the device MAC address to the router's blocklist.
