Deleting or restoring hibernation files on a HUAWEI computer |
The built-in hiberfil.sys file helps you quickly wake up the system from Hibernation mode. However, the hiberfil.sys file is stored in the C drive and occupies a large amount of system space (about 3 GB). To save space, you can delete the hiberfil.sys file.
- Hibernation is an important basic system function of Windows. After you delete the hibernation files, your computer will not be able to set up or enter Hibernation mode, which may cause your computer to heat up and shorten its battery life. Exercise caution when performing this operation.
- To prevent hibernation files from being deleted by mistake, the Full checkup feature of Huawei PC Manager automatically recovers deleted hibernation files. After the hibernation file is automatically restored, perform the following steps if you wish to completely delete the hibernation file:
- Refer to Delete hibernation files
- Go to to recover hibernation files.
- After you perform steps 1 and 2 for the fourth time, the hibernation files will be permanently deleted.
