Setting Wi-Fi Extender on the HUAWEI Mobile WiFi |
The HUAWEI Mobile WiFi supports Wi-Fi Extender. You can connect the HUAWEI Mobile WiFi to another wireless network to expand the coverage of the wireless network. In this case, the mobile data in the HUAWEI Mobile WiFi's SIM card can be saved.
- Wi-Fi Extender does not support synchronization of the Wi-Fi name and password of the uplink router, and the IP address of the connected Internet access device is allocated by the Mobile WiFi.
- Ensure that the extended wireless network signals of the uplink router and the current Wi-Fi signals of the HUAWEI Mobile WiFi are on one frequency band. For example, if the current Wi-Fi signals of the HUAWEI Mobile WiFi are on the 2.4 GHz band, only networks on the same band can be found and extended.
- During Wi-Fi extension, the Mobile WiFi supports only Wi-Fi channels 5–13 for the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. It is normal that Wi-Fi channels 1–4 cannot be found. However, the Mobile WiFi that supports being extended to 5 GHz Wi-Fi is not restricted by channels when extended to 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
- When you use Wi-Fi Extender to expand another wireless network, the HUAWEI Mobile WiFi will not sync the Wi-Fi name and password of the wireless network. Instead, the Wi-Fi name and password set by the HUAWEI Mobile WiFi will be retained.
- Connect your phone to the HUAWEI Mobile WiFi.
- Enter 192.168.8.1 in the address bar of the phone's browser, and enter the login password of the web-based management page to log in.
- Go to Network Settings > Wi-Fi Extender > Wi-Fi Extender Settings, and enable the switch. Select the desired Wi-Fi hotspot and enter the password to connect to it.
After the connection is successful, you can view the connection status of the Wi-Fi hotspot on the home page of the web-based management page.
