Problem

When the user logs with the Microsoft account if the computer is used for the first time, or changes their account in the system, and then enables Sync settings, the desktop wallpaper or the background is modified.

Cause

This is an issue with the Sync settings feature in Microsoft. For example, if the computer is used for the first time, Sync settings is enabled by default. If you are logging in to the system using a local account, switch to a Microsoft account, and manually enable the Sync settings feature.

Solution

Method 1:

Click the Settings icon, go to Accounts > Your info > Sign in with a local account instead, then restart your computer.

Method 2:

Click the Settings icon, go to Accounts > Sync your settings, disable Sync settings, then restart your computer.
