A single HUAWEI CPE comes with two WLAN names

Problem 1

There are two WLAN names of the HUAWEI CPE when searching for the CPE's network.

Cause

HUAWEI CPEs come with two SSIDs (WLAN name), one primary and one secondary.

Solution

You can group and manage devices by opening the web-based management page. The secondary SSID is disabled by default. Disabling the secondary SSID does not affect the rate of HUAWEI CPEs.

Problem 2

Once a HUAWEI CPE is restored to its factory settings, you will find two WLAN names, one of which starts with "HUAWEI" and the other of which starts with "Hi" and contains 32 characters.

Cause

  • The WLAN whose name starts with "HUAWEI" is used for device connections.
  • The WLAN whose name starts with "Hi" is known as a HiSSID, and is used only for initial configuration.

Solution

  • If you have completed the configuration following the wizard on the web-based management page, the HiSSID will be disabled automatically.
  • If you have not completed the configuration on the web-based management page, open the AI Life app, and touch CONFIGUERE. Follow the wizard to complete the configuration. The HiSSID will then be disabled automatically.

Problem 3

Two different WLAN names are found, and one of them is suffixed by "5G".

Solution

This issue occurs when Prioritize 5 GHz is disabled. In this case, names of a 2.4 GHz WLAN and a 5 GHz WLAN will display at the same time, and your device will not automatically connect to the 5 GHz WLAN preferentially. You'll need to choose which WLAN to connect to.
