Pre-installed system apps on my HUAWEI phone/tablet fail to be restored after being uninstalled |
If a pre-installed app (such as Email/Weather) has been uninstalled, follow the steps below to restore it:
1. Disable PrivateSpace or the sub-user account
Perform the following steps for troubleshooting (skip these steps if PrivateSpace and the sub-user account are not enabled):
- Check whether you have added a sub-user account or enabled PrivateSpace
- If you have added multiple accounts, go to , switch to the sub-user or guest account, uninstall the app, and try again.
- If you have enabled PrivateSpace, search for and open PrivateSpace in Settings, uninstall the app, and try again.
- Disable PrivateSpace or the sub-user account
If the app cannot be uninstalled under the sub-user account or in PrivateSpace, or the app cannot be restored after being uninstalled under the sub-user account or in PrivateSpace, it is recommended that you back up the data and disable PrivateSpace, or the sub-user or guest account, and then try again.
2. Download the app from AppGallery
Open AppGallery, and search for and download the app.
If you cannot find the uninstalled app in AppGallery, open AppGallery, go to Me, touch Installation manager to find the app, and touch Install.

If you have not installed AppGallery on your phone/tablet, touch here to download the app.
3. Deactivate third-party portal apps
Go to Settings > Security > More settings > Device administrators. If a Company Portal app displays as Activate, touch it and select Deactivate.
4. If the issue persists
If the app still can't be restored, back up your data and restore your device to its factory settings.
If the issue persists or you encounter any difficulties, please contact the Huawei customer service hotline for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
