I failed to log in to my email account on my HUAWEI phone/tablet, and a message appears indicating that the username or password is incorrect

If a message appears indicating that the username or password is incorrect when you log in to your email account, perform the following to troubleshoot:

1. Check the username and password

Check whether you have entered the username and password correctly.

  1. Check whether the English input method has been switched to half-width mode.
  2. Check whether the email account is spelled correctly.
  3. Check whether you have entered the full name of the email account (for example, xxxx@example.com).

2. Check whether the POP3/IMAP service has been enabled

POP3 or IMAP may not have been enabled for your email. If so, perform the following:

Gmail

  1. Open Gmail on your computer.
  2. Click on the Settings icon in the upper right corner, and click on Settings.
  3. Click on the Forward and POP3/IMAP tab.
  4. In the IMAP access section, select Enable IMAP.
  5. Click on Save Changes.

3. If the issue persists

If the issue remains unresolved, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
