The charging dialog box is always displayed when a monitor is connected to a MateBook X for screen projection

Problem

The charging dialog box is always displayed when the user connects the monitor to a MateBook X for screen projection.

Cause

The MateBook X was launched in 2017, and its USB-C port on the right side supports data transmission but does not support charging. Therefore, when a power adapter is connected to this port, a dialog box will be displayed prompting the user to use the USB-C port on the left side for charging.

The USB-C port of the MateView is a full-function port that supports both data transmission and charging. Therefore, when its USB-C port is connected to the USB-C port on the right side of the MateBook X, the MateBook X will mistakenly consider that the MateView is a power adapter due to its ability to support charging. The dialog box will then be displayed.

Solution

We will continue to optimize the compatibility mechanism across devices to improve the experience when using various ports and interfaces.

Short-term solution:

1. Connect the MateBook X to the MateView through a docking station or through an HDMI or MiniDP port on an adapter.

2. Connect the MateBook X and MateView to a Wi-Fi network for wireless projection.
