The Multi-Screen Collaboration window disappears from a laptop connected with a Qualcomm-chip phone when Instant Hotspot is enabled

Problem

When Instant Hotspot is enabled on a phone with a Qualcomm-chip, the Multi-Screen Collaboration window disappears from the laptop with which it is connected.

Cause

The personal hotspot and WLAN switches are mutually exclusive, meaning that Instant Hotspot and Multi-Screen Collaboration can't work at the same time on phone using a Qualcomm 888 chip. When Instant Hotspot is enabled, WLAN is automatically disabled, and the Wi-Fi P2P-based Multi-Screen Collaboration window is closed.

Solution

1. It is not recommended that you use the Instant Hotspot feature during a Multi-Screen Collaboration session with a phone using a non-Qualcomm chip.

2. If you wish to use Instant Hotspot without interrupting the Multi-Screen Collaboration connection, it is recommended that you use a phone with a non-Qualcomm chip to connect to your laptop.
