| Configuring the printer network and connecting the printer to computers (over LAN_applicable to small businesses) |
If you would like to use the printer at your place of work, add the printer to the corporate LAN, and then connect the printer to local computers over LAN.
The printer supports multiple network configuration and connection methods, and the following example is just one of them. This method does not require a HUAWEI ID and is therefore applicable to small businesses that use printers.
This guide uses Windows as an example to describe how to connect to and use a printer. The steps are similar, but vary depending on the specific operating system. Please perform the steps by following the on-screen instructions of your computer system.
- Connect the printer to the corporate router using a network cable. The printer is then connected to the corporate LAN.
- Power on a computer that has been connected to the corporate LAN, visit the HUAWEI Support website (https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/), and enter the name of your product in the search bar to search for the product. Select your product from the search results to go to the product service and support details page. Select Software Download, and download the Huawei Print client installation package that corresponds with your computer system.
The printer driver is integrated into the Huawei Print client and can't be downloaded separately. Therefore, in order to install the printer driver, you must first download and install the Huawei Print client on your computer.
- Unzip the installation package, find the setup file, and double-click it to start the installation.
- On the computer, check the user agreement box, and click Over LAN. Select the HUAWEI printer from the search results, and click NEXT. Wait until the printer driver is installed on the computer, and complete the installation.
- Once the connection is complete, you will be able to select Copy or Scan. To print a file, open it in the file app, press Ctrl+P, and select the HUAWEI printer (printer name: HUAWEI PixLab X1-last four digits of the SN) on the LAN as prompted. Set the printing parameters, and then start printing.
