Problem:
The phone does not support Always On Display after a smart view flip cover is installed.
Solution:
Smart cover mode and Always On Display are two completely different features.
Smart cover mode: The screen will only be on for 10 seconds through the window area of the flip cover after the cover is closed. This is similar to how the screen turns off 10 seconds after you press the Power button when the screen is locked.
Always On Display: To reduce power consumption, only the clock and unread message notifications are displayed when the screen is off. (This feature is not supported on LCD screens.)
Reasons for Always On Display not being supported in Smart cover mode are as follows:
- The Always On Display feature does not work when the proximity sensor is blocked. However, in Smart cover mode, the flip cover will block the proximity sensor at the top.
To keep the screen steady on, it is recommended that you use a non-flip protective case and enable Always On Display.
