Scenario Description

FreeClip 2

Earbuds: IP57

Charging case: IP54

Splash-proof in daily life scenarios such as being used during outdoor workouts or in the rain for a short period of time.

The product should not be worn in the following scenarios:

  1. You fall into the water, go swimming, underwater, or diving, or do any activity that immerses the device in water.
  2. You are in showers, hot springs, saunas, steam rooms, and do other activities in high-temperature and high-humidity environments.
  3. You do activities related to high-speed water currents, such as water skiing, surfing, motorized water sports (such as speedboats and motorboats), car washing, and rafting.
  4. You use them in an inappropriate way where the device may be in contact with or immersed in strong currents for more than 5 minutes, such as during long-time exposure to heavy rain or storms.

Only the earbuds themselves are IP57-rated. The device is splash-, dust-, and water-resistant under normal conditions but does not qualify as pro-level water-resistant device. Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance may decrease over time with normal use. Avoid charging the device in damp environments. Liquid damage is not covered under the warranty. It is recommended that you wipe the charging contact points and earbuds promptly after exercise, and keep the earbuds dry before putting them into the charging case. If any water has entered the earbuds, place them in a dry, well-ventilated place for at least 96 hours, and let them dry out before continuing to use them. IP57 rating means that based on certain defined test conditions, the device is protected against harmful ingress of static water at up to 1 meter, for up to 30 minutes, meanwhile the temperature difference between water and device is not more than 5°C.

Precautions

  1. HUAWEI earbuds are splash-resistant, but they are not specialized water- and sweat-proof devices. The splash- and dust-proof performance is not permanent, and protection may decrease due to wear over time.
  2. Do not wear the earbuds when you are showering, taking a steam bath, or swimming. If your earbuds come into contact with any liquids, such as rain or sweat, use a piece of dry, lint-free cloth (such as microfiber cloth) to wipe them clean. Do not use the earbuds or place them back in the charging case until they are completely dry.

If there is liquid inside the device

If your earbuds come into contact with any liquids, such as rain or sweat, use a piece of dry, lint-free cloth (such as microfiber cloth) to wipe them clean. Do not use the earbuds until they are completely dry.

Water has entered the earbuds
  1. Hold the bottom of the earbud tightly and gently shake it to remove any water from the sound outlet at the top of the earbud.

  2. Use a hair dryer to blow cold air into the rear air vent of the earbud. Do not dry the earbud by heating it. Then leave the earbud for 48 hours in a well-ventilated and dry environment.

Water has entered the charging case
  1. Open the charging case and take out the earbuds.
  2. Use a hair dryer to blow cold air into the charging port of the charging case to dry it out. Leave the case open for 48 hours.

If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
