[HUAWEI] A connection error message displays when I touch the proximity pairing prompt on my phone to connect to my watch

A message displays indicating that pairing has failed, and that I need to download and update the app

Follow the onscreen instructions to download and update the Huawei Health app to its latest version.

After waiting a short while, a message displays indicating that pairing has failed

  • Check whether there is any Bluetooth pairing information on your phone. If so, unpair your phone from the Bluetooth device, and turn the phone screen off and on again (or turn Bluetooth off and on again on your phone) to start a new pairing.
  • If the Restore factory settings screen displays on your watch, wait until Restore factory settings is finished, then turn the phone screen on or off (or turn Bluetooth on or off on your phone) to start a new pairing.
  • If the watch's home screen displays, go to Settings > System > Disconnect, then turn the phone screen off and on again (or turn Bluetooth off and on again on your phone) to start a new pairing.

    • The HONOR Watch ES and HUAWEI WATCH FIT models do not include the Disconnect option. If you own one of those models, touch Restore factory settings for your watch.
    • Restoring your device to its factory settings will clear all personal data from your device, so please exercise caution when performing this operation.
  • If the issue persists, add the device in the Health app and try again.
