Quickly Switch to Multi-cam Mode

If you have more than one Huawei phone or tablet, you can connect the devices to quickly switch between their cameras on the host device while shooting to film from different angles without missing a single moment!

Switch to Multi-cam Mode in the Camera App

Enter Multi-cam mode in the Camera app to switch between the cameras on this device and a connected device to capture every angle.

Not all devices support Multi-cam .

  1. Log in to a HUAWEI ID and enable Bluetooth on this device and the device to be connected, and connect both devices to the same router or personal hotspot. It is recommended that the distance between the two devices is less than 10 m.

  2. On this device and the device to be connected, go to Settings > Super Device > This device and make sure that the Camera permission is enabled.

    If this device and the device to be connected are logged in to different HUAWEI IDs, go to Settings > Super Device > This device > Visible to and select All nearby devices on both devices.

  3. On this device, go to Camera > More and select Multi-cam.

  4. Your tablet will then automatically search for and display available devices. After selecting a device, a dialog box will be displayed on that device. Perform the operations as prompted.

  5. After the connection is successful, the viewfinder of the connected device will be displayed on this device. You can then:

    • Touch Select camera to switch between the camera of this device or the connected device.

    • Touch to switch to recording mode. This device picks up sound during the recording.

  6. To end the connection, touch or on the connected device.

In Multi-cam mode, only certain shooting parameters can be adjusted.

Switch Between Cameras on Different Devices During Live Video Streams and Photography

After connecting this device to another device via Super Device, you can seamlessly switch between their cameras and film from different angles during live video streams, video chats, and photography in third-party apps.

Not all devices and apps support Multi-cam .

  1. Log in to a HUAWEI ID and enable Bluetooth on this device and the device to be connected, and connect both devices to the same router or personal hotspot. It is recommended that the distance between the two devices is less than 10 m.

  2. On this device and the device to be connected, go to Settings > Super Device > This device and make sure that the Camera permission is enabled.

    If this device and the device to be connected are logged in to different HUAWEI IDs, go to Settings > Super Device > This device > Visible to and select All nearby devices on both devices.

  3. Swipe down from the upper right edge on your tablet to display Control Panel. Then perform the following operations depending on the actual situations:

    • If the device to be connected is logged in to the same HUAWEI ID as this device, its device name will be shown in the Super Device panel. Touch the device name to initiate a connection. Alternatively, touch in the Super Device panel and drag the icon of the device you want to connect to onto the icon of this device.

    • If the device to be connected is not logged in to the same account as this device, touch in the Super Device panel, then touch at the bottom of the screen. Your tablet will automatically search for and display available devices. Touch the name of the device you want to connect to.

    After a connection request is sent, a dialog box will be displayed on the device to be connected. Perform the operations as prompted.

  4. After the connection is established, the viewfinder of the connected device will be displayed on this device during live video streams or photography in a third-party app on this device.

    This device picks up sound during the recording.

    To switch to another device, perform the following operations on this device:

    • Swipe down from the status bar, touch , then touch the name of the device you want to connect to in the displayed list.

    • Swipe down from the upper right edge on your tablet to display Control Panel, and touch the name of the device you want to connect to in the Super Device panel.

    • In the Super Device panel, touch . Then drag the icon of the connected device away from the icon of this device and drag the icon of the new device to the icon of this device.

  5. To end the connection, touch or on the connected device.

If Super Device is not displayed in Control Panel, go to > Show Super Device in Control Panel.
