When the brightness setting is adjusted, the screen flickers

Problem

When the user adjusts the brightness by dragging the bar on the OSD menu, the screen flickers.

  1. The user presses the five-way joystick to display the OSD screen, and goes to Display > Brightness.

  2. The screen flickers when the user continuously drags the brightness adjustment bar.

Cause

Brightness adjustment is not a stepless process. For example, there is a difference of 3 nits between 79% and 80% brightness. As a result, it is normal for the screen to flicker when continuously adjusting the brightness.

Solution

  1. To avoid screen flickering, it is recommended that you pause momentarily between brightness adjustments.
  2. If the issue remains unresolved, prepare the invoice, check the device SN, and call Huawei customer service hotline to check whether you are entitled to on-site support services. If so, Huawei Customer Service Center will assign technicians to inspect your device. If not, you can pay to use these services. You can also back up important data and bring your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
