No sound plays after my HUAWEI MateView SE monitor is connected to an iPad

Problem

When the MateView SE is connected to an iPad via a docking station or adapter cable, both the monitor and iPad are unable to play sound.

Cause

  1. The HUAWEI MateView SE does not support audio playback via speakers, nor does it support sound pickup. When the monitor is set as the default audio output device, no sound will play.
  2. This is caused by a compatibility issue between iPads and certain peripherals (such as certain docking stations).

Solution

  1. Try using a Bluetooth speaker or device that supports audio playback via speakers as the audio output device of the iPad.
    If the issue persists after you connect the iPad to a pair of Bluetooth earphones or a Bluetooth speaker, perform the following steps on your iPad:
    1. Swipe down from the upper right corner of the iPad screen to display the status bar.
    2. Touch the air playback icon in the upper right corner.
    3. Select the Bluetooth earphones or speaker as the audio output device.

  2. If you are using the docking station with a USB port, you can connect it to the iPad via a pair of USB earphones or a USB speaker that can serve as the audio output device.
  3. Try using another adapter cable, docking station, or monitor port.
