Using the numeric keypad

The laptop comes with a numeric keypad, which you can use to quickly enter numbers and decimal points.

Enabling and disabling the numeric keypad:

  • To enable the numeric keypad, press the NumLock key. When the NumLock key light is on, the numeric keypad has been enabled, and you can use it to enter numbers and decimal points.
  • To disable the numeric keypad, press the NumLock key. When the NumLock key light is off, the numeric keypad has been disabled and you will not be able to use it to enter numbers and decimal points. Instead, the keys will function as the Up, Down, Left, Right, Home, PgUp, End, PgDn, Ins, and Del controls, as indicated on each key.

Please note that if you have enabled Turn on Mouse Keys under Control the mouse with the keyboard in Control Panel, you won't be able to use the numeric keypad. You need to deselect Turn on Mouse Keys, and try again.

To do this, click the search icon on the taskbar, type in Control Panel, and open it. Go to Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center > Make the mouse easier to use, and deselect Turn on Mouse Keys.
