You can use the Snippet feature to select and take screenshots of any rectangular area on any screen. After taking a screenshot, you can drag it to a note, instant messaging app, or other apps that support image dragging operations, and you can also edit and save the screenshot.
Pair the HUAWEI M-Pencil (2nd generation) with the 2-in-1 laptop first.
Enabling the Snippet feature
Use either of the following methods:
- Method 1: Swipe the stylus inwards from the upper right corner of the screen, and select Snippet.
- Method 2: Double-tap the HUAWEI M-Pencil (2nd generation).
- Open PC Manager and go to .
- On the HUAWEI Accessories Center screen, touch the drop-down list next to Double-tap, and select Open shortcut menu.
- Double-tap the stylus body, and select Snippet in the upper right corner of the screen.
Using the Snippet feature
- Take a screenshot: You can capture a part of an entire screen in either of the following ways:
- Draw a closed shape: A rectangular area will then be formed in the shape you have drawn, of which you are taking a screenshot.
- Draw an oblique line: A rectangular area will then be formed by using the oblique line as the diagonal, of which you are taking a screenshot.
- Adjust the size of a screenshot: After a rectangular area has been formed, you can adjust its size by dragging the four corners or edges of the area.
- Insert images: After a rectangular area has been formed, you can drag images in the area to the Notes app or other apps that support image insertion.
- Edit images: After a snippet is completed, you can touch on the toolbar to edit the snippet.
- Select the stylus toolbar to set the brush width and color.
You can touch the plus sign (+) to enable
. You can then only use the stylus to operate your laptop, not the touchscreen or mouse. If you want to use the touchscreen or mouse to operate your laptop, disable . - Select the lasso toolbar to select handwriting, zoom in or out, and move the handwriting.
- Select the eraser toolbar to erase handwriting.
- Select the stylus toolbar to set the brush width and color.
- Pin to a screen: After a snippet is completed, you can touch to pin it to a screen and drag it to adjust its position. You can then perform other operations, such as opening the Notes app, touching and holding the snippet, and dragging it to the app.
- Save: After a snippet is completed, you can touch on the toolbar to save it to Gallery.
To find your snippets, go to C:\Users\<user>\Pictures\HUAWEIPenPictures.
- Exit: To cancel the snippet, touch on the toolbar, and select DISCARD from the pop-up.
