Problem

After entering the lock screen on a computer that has been connected to a hardware keyboard, touching the password text box to enter the password or PIN to unlock the screen does not cause the soft keyboard to display.

Cause

Once the Windows 11 21H2 system is updated, the touch keyboard is unavailable when a hardware keyboard is connected. As a result, the soft keyboard will fail to automatically display.

Solution

If you encounter this issue, use either of the following methods to access the system:

1. Use the hardware keyboard to enter the password.
2. Click the small person icon in the lower right corner and enter the information using the on-screen keyboard.
