You can view a list of all devices connected to your wireless network on the router's Manage Device page. In addition to prohibiting a phone or computer from accessing your wireless network, you can also set a limit on its maximum upload and download rate.
- Connect your computer to the router's Wi-Fi (or connect the computer to the router's LAN port using an Ethernet cable). Enter the default IP address in your browser address bar and log in to your router's web-based management page (check the nameplate on the router for the default IP address) .
For routers that feature self-adaptive ports, you do not need to distinguish between WAN and LAN ports.
- Click Manage Device, select the phone or computer that you want to set a limit on, toggle on Limit Rate, and click the
icon in Speed Limit Values to set the maximum upload and download rate.
The maximum number of devices (including online and offline devices) for which you can set a speed limit varies between routers, and you cannot set speed limits for a number of devices exceeding this maximum number. For example, after configuring the speed limit for 10 devices connected to a router that allows limiting the speed of up to 10 devices, if you need to limit the speed of an 11th device, you will need to remove one device from the speed limit control list before you can add the speed limit for the 11th device. If the 10 devices are all currently online, you will need to manually remove one device. If any of the 10 devices are offline and you have not manually removed a device, the device with the earliest set speed limit will be removed. Offline devices are removed first.
