The message Checkup timed out is displayed when I use HUAWEI PC Manager to detect faults on my HUAWEI PC

Problem

When using the Troubleshooting or Optimization feature in HUAWEI PC Manager for fault detection, the message "Checkup timed out" is displayed.

Cause

The HiviewService process is not started or is not running properly.

Solution

  1. Restart the HiviewService process
    1. Find the HUAWEI PC Manager icon in the notification area in the lower right corner of the Windows taskbar.

    2. Right-click the HUAWEI PC Manager icon and choose Exit from the shortcut menu to exit HUAWEI PC Manager.

    3. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager, go to the Details page, and check whether the HiviewService.exe process is running.
    4. If so, right-click HiviewService.exe and choose End task from the shortcut menu to end the HiviewService.exe process.

    5. Find and right-click MateBookService.exe and choose End task from the shortcut menu to end the MateBookService.exe process.

    6. Open HUAWEI PC Manager again. If the RepairPCManager dialog box is displayed, choose Yes to run MateBookService.exe again.

    7. After HUAWEI PC Manager is started, ensure that the HiviewService.exe process is in the Running state on the Task Manager Details page.

  2. If the issue persists, restart your PC and try again. If the problem is not resolved, uninstall HUAWEI PC Manager from your PC, restart your PC, and download and install the latest version of HUAWEI PC Manager from the Huawei official website.
  3. If the problem is still not resolved, back up your data, activate your Office account, and press F10 to restore your PC to its factory settings. You can also contact Huawei consumer service hotline.
