Using the five-way joystick of a HUAWEI monitor

The monitor's five-way joystick can be used to power the monitor on/off and configure the settings.

Power on and off the monitor

Power on the monitor: Press this button. After the brand logo displays on the monitor screen, the indicator will turn on and the monitor will be powered on.

Power off the monitor: Press and hold the button for more than 2 seconds. The indicator will turn off and the monitor will be powered off.

Configure the monitor menu

After the monitor is connected to a computer and powered on, you can use the five-way joystick to adjust the menu settings of the monitor.

  1. Press the five-way joystick to display the monitor settings menu.
  2. Push the five-way joystick rightward to switch to Menu.

  3. Push the five-way joystick rightward or press the five-way joystick to enter the menu settings screen. Then press the five-way joystick upward, downward, leftward, or rightward to select and set menu options.

    : Push the five-way joystick upward, downward, leftward, and rightward to switch between options.

    : Push the five-way joystick leftward to return to the previous menu or exit the current menu.

    : Push the five-way joystick rightward or press the five-way joystick to confirm the option.

Description

Picture mode

P3 color

Recommended for viewing images in P3 wide color gamut or those with vibrant colors.

sRGB color

Recommended for viewing images on a computer.

HDR color

This mode supports HDR video color correction and is recommended for video viewing.

Game

Recommended for gaming.

eBook

This mode provides a paper-like display and is recommended for reading. When it is enabled, you can choose between Black & white and Paper-like.

Custom

Allows you to customize the display effects as needed.

Display

Brightness

Allows you to set the screen brightness to a value between 0 and 100.

Contrast

Allows you to set the screen contrast to a value between 0 and 100.

This feature is only available in Custom, sRGB color, and P3 color modes, with Eye Comfort mode disabled.

Sharpness

Allows you to set the screen sharpness to a value between 0 and 100.

Six colors

You can set the Hue and Saturation of Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow to a value between 0 and 100.

This feature is only available when Picture mode is set to Custom.

Eye Comfort

Eye Comfort mode helps relieve eye fatigue and is recommended for extended reading sessions. Once this mode is enabled, the screen will take on a mild yellow tint. This is normal and does not indicate any issue with your laptop.

This feature is only available in Custom, sRGB color, and P3 color modes, and is disabled by default in other picture modes.

Color temp

It can be set to Cool, Neutral, Standard, or Warm. You can also set the color temperature of Red, Green, and Blue to a value between 0 and 100 in Custom.

This feature is only available in Custom, sRGB color, and P3 color modes, with Eye Comfort mode disabled.

Scaling

It can be set to Full screen or Scaled.

VGA settings

You can set Horizontal, Vertical, Clock, and Phase of VGA signals to a value between 0 and 100.

Alternatively, you can use the Auto adjust feature to have those parameters automatically configured.

This option is only displayed when the monitor is connected through the VGA port.

Extend signal range

You can select On, Off, or Auto adjust. After this feature is enabled, you can adjust the signal range to improve the limited output and display experience.

Input source

HDMI

You can select the input source corresponding to the cable connecting the monitor to any other devices.

Only some models come with a VGA port.

Game assist

Refresh rate

Allows you to configure auxiliary settings for gaming. After enabling this feature, you'll be able to choose to display the refresh rate in the Top left corner or Top right corner of the screen.

Crosshairs

After this feature is enabled, crosshairs will display on the screen. You can set the color of the crosshairs to red or green, or reset their position.

Prevent screen tearing

You can enable or disable this feature. After enabling this feature, you can enjoy a smoother gaming experience free of screen distortion.

Response time

You can enable or disable it. After enabling this feature, you'll be able to set the response time to Standard, Fast, or Super-fast.

You can also select Custom to configure the response time.

Shortcuts

Up

The upper option on the OSD shortcut menu is set to Brightness by default. You can also change it to another setting, such as Picture mode, Response time, Input source, Contrast, or eBook.

Down

The lower option on the OSD shortcut menu is set to eBook by default. You can also change it to another setting, such as Brightness, Response time, Input source, Contrast, or Picture mode.

Settings

Language

You can set the language to Simplified Chinese or American English.

Menu settings

Menu transparency You can set the menu transparency to any value between 1 and 8. A larger value indicates a higher transparency.

Menu timeout: You can set how long the menu will display to any value between 10 seconds and 100 seconds.

LED power button

On in standby: Once this feature is enabled, the indicator on the monitor will flash white in Standby mode.

Off in standby: Once this feature is enabled, the indicator on the monitor will be off in Standby mode.

About

Allows you to view the monitor's SN, firmware version, picture mode, resolution, refresh rate, input source, and other information.

Eco mode

This mode can be enabled or disabled.

This feature is disabled by default. Eco mode saves power. After this mode is enabled, you won't be able to apply certain settings, such as Brightness.

DP Ver.

You can select DP 1.2 or DP 1.4 as the DP protocol version.

DP 1.4 is selected by default. If the DP protocol version of the external device is too early to display its system image, switch to DP 1.2 and try again.

Only some models are involved.

Factory reset

Allows you to restore the monitor menu to its factory settings.
