Optimizing Bluetooth connectivity and stability for HUAWEI watches
Optimizing Bluetooth connectivity and stability for HUAWEI watches |
Environmental factors
- Minimize physical obstructions.
Ensure there are no obstacles, such as walls, metal objects, or human bodies, between your phone and watch. For example, when wearing the watch on your wrist, make sure your body is not obstructing the connection between the devices.
- Keep away from interference sources.
Stay away from high-electromagnetic interference sources, such as Wi-Fi routers, microwave ovens, wireless chargers, and smart home appliances.
- Avoid device use at extreme temperatures.
An ambient temperature of lower than –10°C or higher than +45°C may negatively impact the performance of a Bluetooth module.
Device settings
- Disable power saving mode.
Enabling power saving mode on your phone/watch will limit Bluetooth performance. For optimal Bluetooth stability, you're advised to disable power saving mode in the battery settings (for example, via Settings > Battery).
- Update the system firmware.
Ensure you've updated both your watch (via Settings > System & updates) and your phone to their latest system versions to avoid potential compatibility issues.
- Eliminate interferences from other devices.
Temporarily disconnect other Bluetooth devices (such as earbuds and speakers) to avoid Bluetooth signal channel congestion.
Re-connection and system reset
- Pair your devices again.
Delete the existing pairing record (by removing the watch from phone Settings > Bluetooth), restart the devices, and pair them again.
- Restore your wearable to its factory settings.
If the issue persists, go to Settings > System & updates > Reset on your wearable to restore it to its factory settings. A factory reset will clear all data from your device, so make sure to back up your data before proceeding.
Tips
- Optimize phone and watch placement.
During workouts, ensure your phone and watch are on the same side of your body. For example, place your phone in your left pocket and wear your watch on your left wrist.
- Exit unnecessary background apps on your phone.
When power-intensive apps (such as video apps) are running in the background, they consume system resources and potentially interfere with the Bluetooth connection. Closing unnecessary background apps can free up resources.
- If you don't plan to use your watch for an extended period, charge and restart it periodically to prevent its hardware from entering hibernation mode.
If none of the above resolves the issue, it could be a result of hardware faults. In this case, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for further assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
