  • Q1. Who can participate?

    Any Huawei phone user from around the world can participate. (You must be 18 years of age or older, or have reached the age of majority for the legal jurisdiction that you reside in.) However, submissions that have won an award in any contest or have been published in a public periodical will not be accepted for submission.

  • Q2. How can I participate?

    Participation is free of charge.
    Submissions are to be made on the official XMAGE Awards website (https://consumer.huawei.com/en/campaign/xmage/) and other sub-arenas such as HUAWEI Community, My HUAWEI. To submit your work on the XMAGE Awards website, you are required to log in with your HUAWEI ID and authorize us to use your HUAWEI ID to uniquely identify you so that you can upload, view, and manage your submissions. We will collect your HUAWEI ID, user name, and profile picture.

    Submissions shall also be made on Instagram. Upload your work with the hashtag #HUAWEIXMAGE and follow @huaweixmageawards to participate. You must set your profile page to “Public” and allow non-followers to send you direct messages during the Campaign for the Organizer being able to contact you. When your work is featured on our channel or shortlisted, we kindly request you to provide us with your Instagram username. This will allow us to properly credit you in our post.

  • Q3. When is the submission deadline?

    The deadline for submitting entries is at midnight on 16 August, 2026, Beijing Standard Time (GMT + 8). After the deadline, you will no longer be able to upload, change or delete your work.

  • Q4. Do all submissions have to be created with a Huawei phone?

    Yes, all submissions to the XMAGE Awards must be created with Huawei phones. There are no restrictions on which model of Huawei phone you used.

  • Q5. What are the rules and restrictions regarding the submission of files?

    The images you submit can only be processed on a Huawei phone, although third-party processing software is allowed. Images must be in .JPG .JPEG .PNG format. The data volume of a single image must not exceed 30 MB. The videos you submit can be processed by software on a computer or phone, but must be taken on a Huawei phone. The data volume of a single video must not exceed 400 MB. Videos must be in .MP4 format.
    Submitted work must not be altered using techniques such as compositing. The complete EXIF information must be retained. If the complete EXIF information is missing, the judging result may be affected.

  • Q6. Is there a limit on the number of images I can submit?

    Each participant can upload a maximum of 30 works and can compose of a photo, a group of photos, or videos. Works not approved will not be counted.

  • Q7. What should I do if I can't upload my images/videos?

    If you have any problems while uploading, please contact the organizer: gallery@huawei.com.

  • Q8. How do I know which category my work belongs to?

    Please read the description of each category carefully before submitting, and then submit your work to one category as you see fit.

  • Q9. Can I submit a single image into more than one category?

    Yes. However, multiple submissions of the same piece of work to more than one category shall be deemed as multiple pieces of works.

  • Q10. What information do I need to provide with my images?

    The organizer collects information to provide better services to all our users. The information includes the HUAWEI account information (such as HUAWEI ID, user name, profile picture, and country/region), the participation account information (such as profile, email address, phone number, Instagram account, gender, and age), the submissions, and a brief description of each entry. The user name, email address, and phone number are used to contact you in a timely manner. The gender and age are used to collect statistics about the contest in order to optimize the user experience and provide better services. The Instagram account is to credit you in our official posts. The profile picture, brief introduction, and country/region will be displayed along with each submission.
    To ensure your participation rights, please ensure the accuracy of the contact information you provide. Otherwise, we may not be able to complete the selection and make corresponding decisions due to inaccurate information about your work or your identity.

  • Q11. How can I check on the works that I've already submitted?

    You can log in to your account on the official website, open My Gallery and then check on the status progress of any work you have uploaded.

  • Q12. Why has an uploaded work not been approved?

    All participants agree to abide by the relevant laws of the People's Republic of China and those of their own or resident countries, and shall not use this platform to publish any illegal content, including seditious, pornographic, violent, or terrorist images and/or data. Submissions that violate applicable laws and regulations or that the organizer regards as disruptive to social order or public ethics shall be disqualified from the contest.

  • Q13. How is the contest selection process organized?

    After the initial submission, all approved ones will be screened by the organizing committee to be selected for the final stage of the Contest. For the final judgment, a panel of judges will be invited to work together to decide the “XMAGE 100”. Based on the judges' evaluations and the creative intent of the works, three “Grand Prize Winner” will be chosen from the “XMAGE 100”.

  • Q14. What are the prizes?

    *The aforementioned creation funds are pre-tax amounts.

    *The organizer has the right to modify the number of winners.

  • Q15. Do I retain the copyright of any submitted work?

    Yes. You hereby irrevocably authorize the Organizer and its associated companies to use your submitted work free of charge worldwide for two (2) years (ten (10) years for shortlisted entries) from the official start date of the Contest. After the authorization period expires, the Organizer and its associated companies may not remove the works and derivatives that have been deployed or used, but will not use them again. During the authorization period, we will directly use your submitted work or use it after making modifications as needed for purposes including but not limited to, (a) global online media, print media, printing, photography exhibitions, retail stores, road shows, out⁠-⁠of⁠-⁠home advertising, and other online and offline marketing activities; (b) development, manufacturing, marketing, sales, service, distribution, replication, and training of Huawei products and services; (c) various peripheral products required by Huawei in sales, marketing, and service. In view of the foregoing, the Organizer shall not notify you or obtain your consent when using your submitted works for the activity. The Organizer has the right to re⁠-⁠delegate the aforementioned rights to third⁠-⁠party partners without obtaining your consent.

  • Q16. How will the organizer notify any winning participants of their prizes?

    We will make phone calls or send emails to the winners. We will also simultaneously publish the list of winners on our official website for the convenience of all the participants. The list of winners will be officially announced in November 2026.

  • Q17. Can I delete my uploaded works?

    You can visit My Gallery on the official XMAGE Awards website to delete your works before the submission deadline. However, you cannot delete submissions after submission deadline (that means the competition is under selection).

  • Q18. How can I view the data of the 2026 XMAGE Awards?

    The official XMAGE Awards website (https://consumer.huawei.com/en/campaign/xmage/) displays the events and works of 2026. Some winning entries from previous years and their brief introductions will also be shown on the website. If you would like to view or manage your historical information or data, please contact the organizer for assistance.

  • Q19. Will my submitted works be exhibited globally?

    As the XMAGE Awards is a global contest, your submissions will be reviewed in China and the submitted works will be displayed on the website for users from around the world to view after the final decision on the winning works has been made. Users can view the works on the official XMAGE Awards website (https://consumer.huawei.com/en/campaign/xmage/).
