1. I have a HUAWEI P20 Pro but I don't use HUAWEI ID or cloud services. What personal information does Huawei collect from my phone?
The HUAWEI P20 Pro collects your following information in order to provide you with necessary services such as system update:
- Device and carrier name
- Hardware version information
- Region and language settings
- Device identifiers (IMEI, MEID, and SN)
- Network information
- IP address

2. Where is my personal information stored?
If you are located in a country that is a member of the European Union (EU), your information will be stored in the EU. Our servers are located in Germany and Finland.
3. How is my personal information stored? Will my personal information be disclosed to third parties?
During your use of Huawei mobile devices, we shall ensure the security and privacy of your personal information. Your personal information is encrypted during transmission and local storage. Under no circumstances will we disclose your information to third parties without obtaining your prior approval.
4. What should I do if my personal information is disclosed?
We have a department of specialists dedicated to personal data protection. If the processing of your data does not conform to local laws and regulations, or your data was disclosed or processed by third parties without your prior approval, you can send an email to dpo@huawei.com to report the issue to our data protection officers. Huawei shall deal with the issue as soon as possible.
5. Will my personal information be shared with third parties?
Some of Huawei's products and services are directly provided to you by our business partners. Huawei may share your information with its business partners so that they can provide you with products and/or services that require your personal information. Under no circumstances will we share your information with third parties without obtaining your prior approval. We sign strict non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and/or data processing agreements with companies, organizations, and individuals that we pass your personal information to, requiring them to take appropriate confidentiality and security measures when dealing with your personal information.
6. After performing an EMUI update, what should I do if I don't agree to the terms and conditions notification that pops up?
When you perform an EMUI update, if there are changes to the privacy statements of basic or enhanced services provided by EMUI, we will provide you with the latest version of the privacy statement in order to help you understand what changes may have occurred to how your personal information is processed.
- Basic services refer to basic functions of your phone which are subject to and described in the end user licensing agreement. If you do not agree to the updated privacy statements of basic services, in compliance with Huawei's return policy, you may return your Huawei device to the franchise store or authorized distributor from where you purchased the device and apply for a refund. The return policy is implemented in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations of the country or region of purchase.
- Privacy statements for EMUI enhanced services feature check boxes that allow you to select whether you agree or disagree to them. You may withdraw your agreement to such privacy statements at any time.
7. If I want to obtain a copy of my personal information, what information do I need to provide to verify my identity?
We require you to provide your device model, software version, device IMEI and SN, and purchase order information in order to identify you as the owner of the information and provide you with a copy of it.
