After your laptop is connected to the power adapter, the power indicator (on the same side of the power socket) will light up. The indicator flashes to indicate that the computer is charging. You can determine the current charging status by checking the battery icon in the lower right corner of the desktop.
- If the battery icon is /, it indicates that the laptop is connected to a power supply. In this case, you can move the cursor to the battery icon to view the current battery level and the time required for fully charging the battery.
- Check the power supply connection status and current battery level
Move the mouse cursor to the battery icon. For Windows 11 laptops, "Battery status: XX% available (plugged in)" will display. For Windows 10 laptops, "XX% available (plugged in)" will display.
The following figure uses a Windows 11 computer as an example.
- Check the time required for fully charging the battery
- Windows 11: Right-click the battery icon and click Power & sleep settings to view Fully charged after.
- Windows 10: Click the battery icon to view the time required to fully charge the battery.
- Check the power supply connection status and current battery level
- If the battery icon is , the laptop is not connected to a power supply. Move the cursor to the battery icon to display the remaining battery level and battery life.
- Windows 11: Battery status: XX% (XXh XXmin remaining)
- Windows 10: XXh XXmin remaining (XX%)
The battery life indicated on the battery icon may be low due to the large power consumption during the current scenario. The system calculates the battery usage duration based on the current power consumption. As a result, the actual usage duration and estimated usage duration are inconsistent. This is normal and does not indicate an issue with your computer. We recommend that you refer to the actual usage time.
