The battery level of my HUAWEI laptop decreases from 100% to 95% when it is connected to a power adapter |
This FAQ is not applicable to HUAWEI MateBook E 2019 and HUAWEI MateBook E Go.
Problem
- When the computer is connected to a power adapter, its battery level decreases from 100% to about 95% during use.
- The battery level is about 95% after the computer is charged during power-off and then powered on after an extended period of time.
Cause
- The charge and discharge of the computer's battery are managed by an intelligent control system. To protect the battery, when the computer is connected to a power adapter, charging will stop after the battery is fully charged, until the battery level drops below 95%.
- When the computer is powered off and connected to a power adapter, functions such as battery capacity, temperature, current, and voltage monitoring slowly consume battery power. That's why the battery level of your computer is slightly lower than 100% if you power off the computer after it is fully charged and power it on after a period of time.
- If the computer is connected to a power adapter for a long time (more than 72 hours), the charging restriction strategy of Smart charge is triggered, causing the battery level to decrease.
Solution
- This is due to a self-protection mechanism of your computer and does not indicate a product issue.
- After the battery level is lower than 95%, the adapter will charge the battery to 100% again.
