Office fails to be activated in regions outside the Chinese mainland on computers sold from the Chinese mainland

Problem

The computer purchased in the Chinese mainland comes with Office Home & Student 2019, but cannot be activated outside the Chinese mainland.

Cause

  1. Office Home & Student 2019 must be activated within six months after Windows is activated. Otherwise, Office Home & Student 2019 cannot be activated for free.
  2. Office Home & Student 2019 can only be activated in the Chinese Mainland.

Solution

  • For cause 1, if you did not activate Office Home & Student 2019 within six months of activating Windows, you need to purchase Office Home & Student 2019 on the official Microsoft Office website (www.office.com).
  • For cause 2, activate Office Home & Student 2019 in the Chinese Mainland.
