My HUAWEI computer displays a black screen when I open the cover immediately after closing it

Problem

When the user closes the computer cover and then reopens it immediately within 4 seconds, they cannot wake up the screen and see a black screen instead.

Cause

This can be caused by the fact that it takes longer for the computer to exit Sleep or Hibernation mode in the following scenarios.

  1. Third-party apps are running in the background.
  2. Some drivers, such as the graphics card driver and chipset drivers, might be outdated.
  3. A Windows computer typically takes no less than 4 seconds to wake up from hibernation.

Solution

  1. Close any third-party apps running in the background, close the computer cover, and wait for more than 4 seconds before trying to wake up the computer.
  2. Open Huawei PC Manager, go to Optimization > Drivers, click CHECK or UPDATE, and follow the onscreen instructions to update all drivers to the latest version. (The PC Manager interfaces may vary by version.)

  3. After opening the cover, wait until the Fn key is completely off before trying to enter the system.
  4. If none of the above solved the problem, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for further assistance. If your device is newly purchased, you can also contact your dealer or seller.
