My HUAWEI WATCH 3/4 Series watch is unable to detect falls or trigger SOS

If your watch detects a serious fall, it will trigger emergency services.

If the watch screen does not display Call emergency help? after a fall, perform the following steps:

  1. Check whether Fall detection is enabled.

Go to Settings > Security & privacy > Emergency SOS on your watch, and enable Fall detection. (When a fall is detected, an SOS request will be automatically initiated.)

  2. Fall detection only works when you are wearing the watch.

Wear your watch in the correct manner, at least one finger width away from your wrist bone to ensure a snug, comfortable fit.

  3. After a fall, your watch will need about 30 seconds to take further action.
When your watch detects that you have fallen over, it will take about 30 seconds to determine your current situation. If your watch detects that you are moving and the fall is not serious, it will determine that you have not fallen over.

    • A fall will only be detected if:
      1. The arm on which your watch is worn touches the ground, and the angle between the arm and the ground is less than 90 degrees.
      2. The watch determines a fall by the shift in weight and force of impact on your arm.
    • Occasional errors are prone to occur due to differences in posture and fall severity.

If your watch detects a fall but does not call or send a message to any emergency contacts, please refer to Emergency SOS.

If the issue persists, please call the Huawei consumer service hotline for further assistance.
