Solution
- When the printer reports a paper jam error and is connected to a power supply, the automatic paper discharge feature will be preferentially used.
- If the automatic paper discharge feature can't remove the paper, power off the printer and perform the following steps:
- Check whether the paper is correctly placed in the paper tray of the printer.
- Check whether there is paper jam at the paper feeding position.
- Check whether there is paper jam under the drum unit.
Hold the inner handle of the old drum unit and pull it up at an angle to carefully remove the old drum unit assembly.
- Check whether there is paper jam at the fuser.
- If paper jam occurs during double-sided printing and the position where paper jam occurs can't be located, perform the following steps:
If paper jam occurs during double-sided printing, check the firmware version of the printer.
X1 printer: 02.98.68.35.46 or later
B5 printer: 11.98.68.35.46 or later
If not, update the printer to the latest version.
- Check whether paper jam occurs at the paper outlet.
- Check whether paper jam occurs in the double-sided paper feeder.
- Place the drum unit and paper tray back into the printer. Press and hold the Start button for 3 seconds, and print the information page to check whether the printer is normal.

Tips for avoiding paper jam:
- Correctly place the paper and adjust the positions of the limit baffles. Do not push the limit baffles too tight to prevent the paper from arching. For details, refer to The printed images or texts are skewed.
- Do not put too much paper into the paper tray. The paper tray can hold a maximum of 150 pieces of paper (70 g/m²).
- Do not take out paper from the paper feeder when printing is in progress.
- Do not use wrinkled, folded, damped, or overly curled paper.
- Do not mix different types of paper in the paper tray.
- Keep unused paper in a proper environment to avoid getting damped and dusty.
- Do not remove paper jam with force, as the paper that gets stuck may be torn. Residual paper scraps in the printer may cause paper jam to happen frequently, which makes the printer broken.
- The rated load of the paper outlet is 50 pieces of paper. After a print task is complete, remove the paper from the paper outlet in a timely manner to prevent the paper outlet from being blocked and causing paper jam.
