Query the Windows product key on a HUAWEI computer

A product key is a 25-character code used to activate Windows. To activate the corresponding Windows version, enter the product key in the system settings. You can check the product key using the following methods.

 
  • If a computer cannot boot into the system, it is impossible to view the product key.
  • The input command is case insensitive. However, pay attention to digits and spaces. It is recommended that you copy and paste the command to the window.
  • If the query result is empty after pressing the Enter key, it indicates that the computer does not have a product key.
  • If your device did not come with pre-installed Windows Home edition or if it was explicitly stated during purchase that the device does not include a Windows activation key, these instructions do not apply. To obtain the corresponding product key, it is recommended that you contact your dealer or Microsoft.
Using Windows PowerShell
  1. Connect your computer to the Internet. Right-click the Windows icon on the desktop and select Administrator (or Windows PowerShell (Admin)) from the shortcut menu.

  2. Enter the command (Get-WmiObject –query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey and press Enter. The text displayed in the format of "XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX" is the product key.

If your device did not come with pre-installed Windows Home edition or if it was explicitly stated during purchase that the device does not include a Windows activation key, these instructions do not apply. To obtain the corresponding product key, it is recommended that you contact Microsoft for further support. Microsoft provides technical support for Windows.
