HUAWEI M-Pencil (2nd generation) is a substitute for standard touchscreen operations and its key features provide a more interactive and fun writing and drawing experience.
Setting the Double-tap feature of the stylus

Pairing with the stylus
- HUAWEI M-Pencil (2nd generation) is compatible with HUAWEI MateBook E 2023, HUAWEI MateBook E 2022, and HUAWEI MateBook E Go Series.
- The 2-in-1 laptop must be connected to the stylus through PC Manager. Ensure that PC Manager is running properly.
- Certain 2-in-1 laptop models do not come with a stylus. If you are using such a laptop, purchase one stylus separately.
- The UI may vary depending on the device.
- Refer to the following figures. Attach the notch of the stylus to the top edge of the laptop, and touch CONNECT in the pop-up.
- After the stylus is paired with the laptop, they will automatically reconnect after Bluetooth is enabled on the laptop.
Setting the Double-tap feature of the stylus
It is recommended that you double-tap the sensing area (within 40 mm) marked in the following figure and ensure that the contact area is normal.

After the pairing is successful, touch MORE on the pairing screen, or open PC Manager, select My devices, touch the stylus card to access the stylus settings screen, check the battery level of the stylus, and set the Double-tap feature.
- Switch to eraser: Double-tap the virtual button on the stylus to switch to eraser.
- Take screenshot: Double-tap the virtual button on the stylus to invoke the Windows screenshot tool. You can then follow the onscreen instructions to take a screenshot of the current window or the entire screen.
- Wake voice assistant: Double-tap the virtual button on the stylus to wake the voice assistant in PC Manager.
- Open shortcut menu: Double-tap the virtual button on the stylus to use the Annotate and Snippet features.
- Close: Disable the double-tap virtual button feature on the stylus.
- HUAWEI MateBook E 2022
After the pairing is successful, a stylus icon will display in the lower right corner of the laptop. You can touch this icon to open the Huawei stylus app where you can view the current battery level of the stylus, set the stylus button, and view the stylus information.
- Take screenshot: Double-tap the virtual button on the stylus to invoke the Windows screenshot tool. You can then follow the onscreen instructions to take a screenshot of the current window or the entire screen.
- Wake voice assistant: Double-tap the virtual button on the stylus to wake the voice assistant in PC Manager.
- Follow Windows Ink double-click setting: Double-tap the virtual button on the stylus to enable the double-tap feature that you set in Windows system settings as follows.
- Press Win+I to open the Settings screen, and go to .
- Expand Choose what your shortcut button does options, and set the Double-click feature (such as writing memos, running programs, and opening apps).
The stylus does not support the Single-click and Press and hold operations in Pen & Windows Ink.
- Close: Disable the double-tap virtual button feature on the stylus.
Charging the stylus
- Charge the stylus: Keep the laptop in landscape mode, and attach the notch of the stylus to the top edge of the laptop. A stylus charging icon will then display on the laptop, indicating that the stylus is being charged.
- Check the battery level: The value next to the charging icon indicates the current battery level of the stylus.
- If the stylus stays idle for a long time, its power will gradually drain until it enters battery protection mode. In this case, charge the stylus for 5 to 10 minutes before using it.
- Using a non-HUAWEI folio cover or keyboard may result in the stylus not pairing or not being charged. In this case, remove the folio cover or keyboard and pair with the stylus again.
