Pair my HUAWEI M-Pencil with a tablet and charge it

Note: The following content applies only to tablets. If you are using a 2-in-1 laptop, see Pair my HUAWEI M-Pencil stylus with my 2-in-1 laptop.

1. Make sure that your M-Pencil can be used on your tablet.

   Make sure that your M-Pencil can be paired with your tablet by referring to HUAWEI tablet/laptop models that support HUAWEI styluses.

   It is recommended that you update your tablet to the latest system version. An early system version may cause pairing failure.

2. Pair your M-Pencil with your tablet.

   Attach your stylus to your tablet by referring to the following table, and touch CONNECT in the displayed dialog box.

   Your stylus can be connected to your tablet via a magnetic attachment or a stylus charger. Refer to the following table to find the connection methods supported by your tablet.

   If both your stylus and tablet support NearLink, they will connect via NearLink first. If either device does not support NearLink, they will connect via Bluetooth.

   MatePad Pro 13.2-inch 2025	Magnetic attachment (right) Attach the notch of the stylus to the right side of the top edge (where the volume buttons are located) of the tablet, as shown in position ① in the following figure. If the stylus is attached to an incorrect position, it will not be able to pair with your tablet. It is recommended that you move the stylus leftwards or rightwards to find the place with the greatest magnetic force and attach the stylus to that place.

   MatePad 11.5	Attachment via a charger Attach the stylus to a charger and connect the charger to the tablet for pairing and charging. After the connection is successful, you can detach the stylus from the charger for independent usage.

3. Check the battery level of your stylus.

   When the stylus is paired with the tablet, you can check the stylus's battery level in any of the following ways:

   Method 1: Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Stylus. The battery level and charging status of the stylus are displayed on the screen. A lightning icon indicates that the stylus is being charged.

   

   Method 2: Remove the stylus and reattach it. Check the battery level in the prompt.
