How to reset HUAWEI earbuds or restore them to their factory settings
 
  • This FAQ applies to HUAWEI earbuds only. For details about another product, please contact the manufacturer.
  • When only a single earbud is in the charging case, the earbuds cannot be restored to factory settings.
  • When you restore the earbuds to their factory settings, the pairing information will be cleared, all settings will be restored, and the earbuds will re-enter Pairing mode. You can then pair the earbuds with your phone/tablet.

FreeBuds series earbuds

FreeClip earbuds

  • Other FreeBuds earbuds/FreeClip earbuds: Place the earbuds in the charging case and keep the lid open. Press and hold the Function button (as shown in the following figure) for at least 10 seconds until the status indicator flashes red, which indicates that the earbuds have been restored to their factory settings. Then, pair the earbuds once again.

The earbud protective case may cause your finger to loosen when you press and hold the button. It is recommended that you remove the protective case and try again.

  • FreeBuds SE 3: Place the earbuds in the charging case and keep the lid open. Press and hold the Function button (at the bottom of the case) for at least 10 seconds until the status indicator flashes red, which indicates that the earbuds have been restored to their factory settings. Then, pair the earbuds once again.

  • FreeBuds SE 2: Place the earbuds in the charging case and keep the lid open. Touch and hold the control area on the left and right handles for at least 10 seconds until the status indicator flashes red, which indicates that the earbuds have been restored to their factory settings. Then, pair the earbuds once again.

    If you are using the earbuds to make a call, play audio, or watch a video, pause the service or disconnect from Bluetooth before restoring the earbuds to their factory settings.

FreeLace series neckband earbuds

Press and hold the Power button for at least 10 seconds until the status indicator flashes red and then white, which indicates that the earbuds have been restored to their factory settings. Then, pair the earbuds once again.

  • The Power button is not supported for pairing while the earbuds are plugged into the USB port.
  • For FreeLace Lite/xSport Pro earbuds that do not have a Power button, press and hold the Function button for 10 seconds or longer.
  • For FreeLace Pro 2 earbuds, flip the Power switch to expose the green dot to power on the earbuds, and press and hold the Function button for at least 10 seconds until the status indicator flashes red and then white, which indicates that the earbuds have been restored to their factory settings. Then, pair the earbuds once again.

FreeBuds Studio headphones

When the headphones are powered on, press and hold the Bluetooth button for more than 10 seconds until the indicator flashes red and then white, which indicates that the headphones have been restored to their factory settings. Then, pair the headphones once again.

HUAWEI Exercise Heart Rate Bluetooth earbuds

HUAWEI Sport Bluetooth earbuds

Press and hold both the Power button and the Volume down button for at least 4 seconds to restore the earbuds to their factory settings.

HONOR FlyPods Lite

HUAWEI FreeBuds Lite

Place the earbuds in the charging case and keep the lid open. Press and hold the Function button for at least 10 seconds until the status indicator flashes, which indicates that the earbuds have been restored to their factory settings. Then, pair the earbuds once again.

The Function button is located on the back of the charging case.

Other FAQs

  • Why does the indicator flash white after I press and hold the button?

    If the indicator flashes white, the earbuds enter the pairing mode. If the indicator flashes red, the earbuds enter the factory settings restoration mode. Do not release your hand when the indicator flasher white. Continue to press and hold the button for 5 to 10 seconds until the indicator flashes red.

  • How do I pair the earbuds after I changed a single earbud?

    Place both earbuds in the charging case and keep the lid open. Press and hold the function button for 10 to 15 seconds to restore the earbuds to their factory settings. Then pair the earbuds with the phone again.

  • Why is there no method for FreeBuds Pro 3 /FreeLace Pro 2?

    FreeBuds Pro 3 belongs to FreeBuds series, and FreeLace Pro 2 belongs to FreeLace series. You can view their methods in their series.
