Health tips for wearing HUAWEI smart wearable devices

For optimal wearing comfort and measurement accuracy, make sure that the watch is worn in the correct manner. Remember to clean the device on a regular basis.

Correct wearing

  • Check to ensure that the rear case of your watch is clean, dry, and free of foreign objects. Wear the watch with a snug fit on your wrist and make sure the monitoring module is in direct contact with your skin. Do not attach any protective film to the rear case as it contains sensors that track physiological indicators and ECG signal (only applicable to ECG-equipped models). Any obstruction can undermine the quality of detection, resulting in inaccurate heart rate, ECG (only applicable to ECG-equipped models), SpO2, and sleep data, or even a complete measurement failure. New message and incoming call notifications may also be affected.
  • To ensure optimal monitoring accuracy, fasten the strap snugly one finger width above your wrist bone for the best possible fit. Make sure that the watch remains secure on your wrist during workouts.

  • For users of HUAWEI WATCH D/HUAWEI WATCH D2: Measure your wrist circumference with the soft tape that comes in the product box and choose an appropriately-sized strap. If that feels a bit tight, loosen the strap by one hole.

Materials

The body, strap, clasp, airbag (applicable to HUAWEI WATCH D/HUAWEI WATCH D2), and other parts of Huawei watches have passed strict tests and comprehensive evaluations, including the EU RoHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and molecular allergy diagnostic tests, to ensure that any materials coming into contact with your skin are free of hazardous or allergy-producing substances. However, if you have experienced discomfort or skin irritation in the past, please be mindful of the following materials:

  • Nickel: Nickel is a common material in metallic products, and can be found in the metal straps and clasps, as well as stainless steel cases of Huawei watches. The rates of nickel release are lower than that permitted in the European Union's Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation. However, if you are allergic to nickel, it is recommended that you select a nickel-free watch model/strap instead.

  • Acrylates: A small amount of acrylates and methyl acrylates are contained in the adhesives and coatings on the body and certain straps of Huawei watches. If you are allergic to acrylates, be sure to select an acrylate-free watch model instead.

Wearing a wearable device for an extended period of time can lead to discomfort, due to the presence of sweat or fungi, environmental factors, or other reasons. If you notice any discomfort, take the wearable off and wait till your wrist feels comfortable again, before putting the device back on.

Allergic reactions

If your wrist skin turns red, swells, itches, or experiences any other rash or form of discomfort, remove the wearable device immediately and wait till your wrist feels comfortable again. If the symptoms persist for more than three days, consult with a medical professional before deciding whether to continue wearing.
