Care tips during daily use
Scratch and corrosion resistance
- The device's front screen is made of hard, scratch-resistant materials like glass and ceramic. However, it is still important to avoid dropping the wearable onto hard surfaces and avoid bringing it into contact with severe impact or sharp objects like knives and rocks.
- Make sure that the rear case and charging contacts are clean and dry before charging the device. Wipe off sweat from the rear case and charging contacts after exercise.
Water and dust resistance
- The device should not be worn during dives, platform dives, snorkelling, water skiing, hot showers, in hot springs or saunas (steam rooms), or during other activities involving deep water or fast-flowing water.
- After wearing a sports-style watch/band in water, wipe it clean and dry, and then leave it idle till it air-dries completely.
- If a leather or metal strap comes into contact with water, wipe it clean and dry before using it again.
Note: The wearable device can prevent dust from entering in living rooms, offices, laboratories, light industrial studios, and storage rooms, but should not be worn in particularly dusty environments.
Cleaning and Maintenance Guide for Straps
Soft rubber strap
- Keep the device body and strap and your wrist skin clean and dry. Make sure to wipe off any sweat after workouts. Clean your device on a regular basis with soft cloth and remove any dirt from the crevices. Soft rubber straps can be rinsed with clean water and wiped dry with a clean, dry cloth.
- Avoid cleaning the strap with hand sanitizer, soapy water, or other acidic/alkaline solvents, to prevent skin irritations due to the buildup of such products when they are not washed off completely. Make sure the device is wiped completely dry before putting it back on your wrist.
- If the strap gets stained by something that's hard to wash off, you can use a wet soft brush to clean it.
- Edges of a light-colored strap get stained/dyed with darker hues:
(1) Avoid bringing such a strap into contact with dark-colored clothes or accessories, to prevent unwanted color transfer.
(2) Clean the edges with a soft, clean cloth or soft brush dipped in neutral detergent. Then rinse the strap with clean water and air-dry it completely.
(3) HUAWEI WATCH GT Cyber: You can use toothpaste or a white eraser to gently rub the edges until the dye/stain comes off. Then rinse the strap with clean water and air-dry it completely.
Metal/Ceramic strap
- It is recommended that you clean the strap twice a month, or at a frequency that you see fit based on product use.
- Clean the strap with a soft lint-free cloth dipped in a small amount of clean water. Clean the crevices with a soft brush dipped in neutral detergent. Then rinse the strap clean with running water, wipe it dry in a timely manner, and air-dry it completely.
- The metal components of a ceramic watch body and strap are coated with an anti-corrosion layer. However, it is recommended that, after wearing the device in the seawater, you rinse the device body and strap with clean water and wipe them dry, to reduce risk of corrosion caused by seawater.
- Keep the strap from coming into contact with any sharp or hard objects, to avoid damage.
- Quick release links should be installed and removed following the instructions, to avoid damage caused by misoperations.

Leather/Composite vegan leather strap
- Leather straps are not water-resistant, and should be placed in a dry, well-ventilated place when not in use. If the strap comes into contact with stains or water, wipe it clean and dry with a soft cotton cloth and then place the strap in a cool, well-ventilated place to dry. It is recommended that you clean the strap on a weekly basis.
- Avoid exposing the strap to strong sunlight or using a heating device (such as microwaves and hairdryers) to dry the strap, otherwise the leather surface may shrink, expand, or chip away.
- Avoid bringing the strap into contact with any rough, hard, or sharp objects.
- Avoid squeezing the strap or folding it the wrong way, otherwise the strap may get wrinkled or damaged.
- Keep the strap away from flammable, acidic, alkaline, and corrosive substances.
- Do not punch holes in the strap by yourself.
- Avoid bringing light-colored straps into contact with dark-colored clothes, to prevent unwanted color transfer.
- If a light-colored strap gets stained, wipe it clean with a lint-free cloth dipped in clean water.
Woven strap
- Woven straps are braided with nylon yarns. Avoid bringing such a strap into contact with rough (such as brushes) or sharp objects.
- It is recommended that, after intense exercise, you gently rub and clean the strap with mild neutral detergent, rinse it clean with running water, and place it flat or hang it to dry. It is recommended that you clean the strap on a weekly basis or once every two weeks.
- Do not have woven straps cleaned or dried in a washing machine or dryer.
Composite strap
- The woven composite strap of HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 41 mm Edition is made of nylon yarns and vegan leather. If the light-colored nylon yarns get stained, wipe (but avoid rubbing) them clean with a lint-free cloth dipped in neutral detergent, and rinse it clean with running water. Alternatively, use alcohol wipes to remove the stain. Then place the strap in a cool and dry place until it air-dries completely. Do not use brushes or sharp objects for cleaning.
- Avoid soaking the strap in water for a long time.
- Avoid wearing light-colored straps during exercise, or bringing them into contact with dark-colored clothes, to prevent unwanted color transfer.
- The composite strap of HUAWEI WATCH 4 Pro/HUAWEI WATCH GT 4 is made of renewable nylon yarns and fluoroelastomer. If the light-colored nylon yarns get stained, it is recommended that you remove the stain by rinsing the strap with clean water, and then place it flat or hang it to dry. Avoid bringing the strap into contact with rough (such as brushes) or sharp objects.
- Do not have composite straps cleaned or dried in a washing machine or dryer.
Air inlet and outlet
- Remove the short strap (the section with the buckle), and keep the long strap and airbag. Keeping the watch rear case facing up, fold the long strap and airbag the other way onto the screen and hold them with your palm.
- Dip a cotton swab in an appropriate amount of detergent and water, and slowly wipe the air inlet and outlet back and forth 20 times (not with too much force, otherwise the air filter may fall off), until the inlet and outlet are clean.
- Wipe the watch and strap-airbag dry, and leave them aside for half an hour.
Airbag
- Keep the watch and your wrist skin clean and dry. Make sure to wipe off any sweat after workouts. Clean the airbag on a regular basis with soft cloth and remove any dirt from the crevices. Avoid bringing the airbag into contact with rough or sharp objects. Avoid cleaning with water, so as to prevent any liquid or water from entering the airbag through the air nozzle and damaging the device.
- It is recommended that you clean the airbag and crevices with wet tissue or wet lint-free cloth, and then place the airbag flat on a surface until it air-dries completely.
Notes:
· Do not have the airbag cleaned or dried in a washing machine or dryer.
· The airbag color may change or fade after a period of time.
Airbag clothing
- The airbag clothing is woven with spandex and nylon, and should be kept away from rough or sharp objects.
- Make sure to rinse and clean the clothing with clean water at room temperature in a timely manner after intense exercise, to avoid sweat and stain buildup. It is recommended that you clean it on a weekly basis or once every two weeks.
- It is recommended that you gently rub and clean the clothing with mild detergent or soap, rinse it clean, and then place it flat or hang it to dry.
Notes:
· Do not have the airbag clothing cleaned or dried in a washing machine or dryer.
· The clothing color may change or fade after a period of time.
· The device can prevent dust from entering in living rooms, offices, laboratories, light industrial studios, and storage rooms, but should not be worn in particularly dusty environments.
