Unable to use my NFC-enabled phone as an access card

Cause:

This issue occurs because your phone has not been configured to serve as an access card. To avoid the possibility that two phones of the same model might share the same ID, your NFC-enabled phone is designed to randomize the ID value of the access card each time it is read by a card reader, which means your phone can't be identified by the access control system until the access card function has been set up.

Solution:

You can use either of the following methods to set up your NFC-enabled phone as an access card:

Method 1: Use the door key function in the Wallet app.

Method 2: Contact the supplier of the access control system to check whether the NFC-SIM card can be used to open the door. If so, contact your carrier to apply for an NFC-SIM card with an embedded Secure Element (SE) chipset. Then do the following to configure the NFC-SIM card to be used as an access card:

Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel, make sure that NFC is switched on, then touch and hold NFC to access the settings screen.
  • Install the NFC-SIM card in card tray 1. (For some models, only card tray 1 supports NFC.)
  • Set NFC security chip to SIM 1 (applicable to dual-SIM phones that support NFC) and Default payment app (Default app on phones running EMUI 10.0) to the relevant carrier app.
