Bluetooth icon missing from the taskbar on my HUAWEI computer

Problem

After the user goes to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices, and enables and disables Bluetooth repeatedly, the Bluetooth icon disappears.

Cause

Enabling and disabling Bluetooth repeatedly may result in the taskbar failing to respond, causing the Bluetooth icon to disappear.

Solution

  1. Enable Bluetooth again, or restart your computer and try again.
  2. On Windows 10: Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > More Bluetooth options. In Bluetooth Settings, check the box for Show the Bluetooth icon in the notification area.

On Windows 11: Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & other devices > More devices > More Bluetooth options. In Bluetooth Settings, check the box for Show the Bluetooth icon in the notification area.

  3. Uninstall the Bluetooth driver and then reinstall the latest version with the following steps.
    1. Enter "device manager" in the search box on the task bar, and select Device Manager in the results to open it.

    2. In Device Manager, find the Bluetooth directory, right-click on Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R)/Realtek Bluetooth Adapter, and select Uninstall device.

    3. In the Uninstall Device pop-up window, check the box for Attempt to remove the driver for this device, and click Uninstall.

    4. After the uninstallation is complete, restart the computer. Open Huawei PC Manager, go to Optimization > Drivers, and follow the onscreen instructions to install the updated Bluetooth driver.
