  • Refer to here for precautions about the music feature on the watch, how to add music to the watch, and music syncing.
  • Due to music copyright restrictions, the VIP membership benefits on your phone cannot be shared with your watch. To access these benefits on your watch, you will need to purchase or upgrade to the Premium PLUS membership on your watch.
  • Only certain watches support music syncing when paired with an iPhone. For example, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 Series supports this feature.

If the Add songs screen does not display the tracks you wish to add or music transfer fails, try the following to troubleshoot the issue.

Check the music format

  • Music formats supported on watches

Supported music formats vary depending on your watch. To check the music formats supported by your watch, open Huawei Health, navigate to the device details screen, and tap Music. If the downloaded music format is not supported, the music will not be displayed on the Add songs screen.

  • To view the format of a music file (using the HUAWEI Music app as an example)

On a HUAWEI phone: Go to HUAWEI Music > Me > Local, tap : next to a track and then , and you'll be taken to the Song info screen where you can view the size, standard, path, and format of the song.

  • For local songs downloaded from third-party music apps, you can check whether the songs can be transferred on the Scan local songs screen in the HUAWEI Music app.

To do so, go to HUAWEI Music > Me > Local, tap in the upper right corner and then Scan local songs, and check the box for Don't find encrypted songs (as encrypted songs cannot be transferred). If the target songs do not display, it indicates that their formats aren't supported for transfer. In this case, select other songs that are in supported formats and are not encrypted.

Ensure that music is granted access to storage

  • If you're using a HUAWEI phone, open Huawei Health, navigate to the device details screen, and go to Music > Manage music > Add songs. You'll see a prompt asking if Huawei Health can access media on your device. Tap Allow to proceed.

  • If you're using a third-party Android phone, such as a Sony phone, open Huawei Health, navigate to the device details screen, go to Music > Manage music > + > Add songs. You'll see a permission request. Tap Allow in Settings to grant music access to your storage.

Try transferring audio files in other supported formats or bitrates

If the audio file format is compatible but the file still cannot be imported, the watch may not support the bitrate of the audio file. In this case, try transferring other music or audio files in other supported formats.

Try changing the music file storage path (third-party Android phones)

If the Add songs screen does not display the tracks you wish to add, try moving these music files to the Music folder on your phone (Files > Storage > Music).

Take a Meizu phone as an example: Go to Files > Audio, touch and hold down on a desired song, tap Move, and select the Music folder. (The path may vary depending on the phone model.)

Uninstall and reinstall the HUAWEI Music app (third-party Android phones)

If the Add songs screen does not display the member-only tracks downloaded from the HUAWEI Music app, it is recommended that you uninstall the HUAWEI Music app on your phone, download HUAWEI AppGallery, and then reinstall HUAWEI Music from there. After that, try again.

If the issue persists

If none of the above resolves the problem, call the Huawei customer service hotline for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
