Setting the Wi-Fi blocklist or trustlist on the HUAWEI CPE

When Wi-Fi blocklist or trustlist is enabled, you can set the CPE's Wi-Fi to blocklist mode or trustlist mode as required. In blocklist mode, devices in the blocklist cannot connect to the CPE's Wi-Fi. In trustlist mode, only devices in the trustlist can connect to the CPE's Wi-Fi. Setting the Wi-Fi blocklist or trustlist enhances network security. The CPE can restrict the access of unknown users and devices even if they know the Wi-Fi name and password. Devices in the blocklist can find your CPE's Wi-Fi but cannot connect to the Wi-Fi.

A maximum of 32 devices can be added in the blocklist or trustlist.

Method 1: Using the AI Life app

  1. Connect your phone to your CPE's Wi-Fi.
  2. Open the AI Life app on your phone.
  3. On the home screen of the app, touch the target CPE to enter the management screen.

  4. On the Devices screen, find the device that you want to block in the Online list or Offline list, toggle off the Allow access to Wi-Fi switch of the device, and touch OK. The device is then blocked and cannot connect to the Wi-Fi.

  5. You can view the blocked device in the Blocked list on the Devices screen.

    • You cannot block the device marked with "[Me] xxx" in the Online list, as it is the device on which you are using the AI Life app.
    • If you want to remove a device from the blocklist, find the device in the Blocked list on the Devices screen, touch the device, and toggle on the Allow access to Wi-Fi switch.

Method 2: Using the web-based management page

  1. Connect your phone or computer to the HUAWEI CPE's Wi-Fi (or connect your computer to the CPE's LAN port using a cable). Enter 192.168.8.1 in the address box of the browser to go to the login page, and enter the login password to access the web-based management page. (To facilitate operations, you can switch to the computer version after logging in using your phone.)
  2. Go to Advanced > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi MAC Filter. Enable Wi-Fi MAC Filter. Set the CPE to blocklist mode (Block the access of devices in the list) or trustlist mode (Allow the access of devices in the list) as required.
  3. Select Block or Allow in Filter mode, choose to add a connected device to the blocklist or trustlist as required, and choose Save.

After the devices are added, you can view them in the Wi-Fi MAC address list.

If you do not want to use the blocklist or trustlist feature, disable Wi-Fi MAC Filter.
